Nga Manu Putohe
Nga Manu Putohe is a Maori cultural dance group for students aged 4 years old to 18 years old. We are a non profit organisation based in Logan Brisbane QLD. Through song and dance we provide an avenue for students living in Australia to learn about Maori culture/traditions and heritage through kapahaka (dance). We implement discipline, respect and confidence and provide fitness, wellbeing, encourage friendships and community spirit. This funding with help to go towards a venue for our end of year showcase and cultural performing wear.
Nga Manu Putohe is A well organised cultural program for children that are able to engage with Te Ao Maori practices and traditions. The staff at Nga Manu Putohe are not only professional, well educated and in connection with their culture. But they are also very supportive, inclusive and considerate of each individual students needs. They help educate their young minded students about the aspects of Te Ao Maori culture. They also are very connected within the community and are in need of extra support as They are a low earning income organisation. I believe this campaign is not only important to support our young future leaders that are students of Nga Manu Putohe. But I also believe it is important to support this campaign for positive inclusion of community connections and relations. My Daughter is a proud Aboriginal, Torres Strait Island, Māori girl. Who is a Culturally educated young student of Nga Manu Putohe and has gained so many positive values throughout the first intake. I am eager to watch her and her younger brother learn and grow within their culture through Nga Manu Putohe and excited to witness our future leaders of this group evolve into their own characters with this organisation.
